Day 1 - Transfer from New Jalpaiguri station(NJP)/ Bagdogra (IXB)Airport to Darjeeling (70 km./2 hrs.):

After your arrival at the railway station or airport, continue your further journey. Upon your arrival at Darjeeling, check in at the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Stay overnight at the Darjeeling hotel.

 

Day 2 - Darjeeling Sightseeing (With Tiger Hill):

Wake up at 04:00 am and drive to the Tiger Hill to witness the panoramic sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzongha, which is the 3rd highest peak in the world at an altitude of 28,208 ft. Visit the Ghum Monastery and Batasia Loop on your return journey. Post breakfast, explore attractions namely the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Ropeway and the Japanese Temple. Spend the evening on your own. You can either indulge in shopping or just relax. Enjoy your overnight stay in Darjeeling.

 

Day 3 - Day Excursion to Mirik lake and Nepal Border:

Have your breakfast and head towards Mirik lake. Enjoy sightseeing of tea gardens and proceed towards Nepal border sightseeing. Take a boat ride and horse ride while returning (optional at your own cost). After the fun-filled day, relax for the night at the hotel in Darjeeling.

 

Day 4 - Darjeeling to NJP Railway Station/IXB Airport (70 km./4-5 hrs.):

Relish a delicious breakfast and check out from the hotel. Head towards NJP Railway Station/IXB Airport for your return journey.

Day 1 - Arrival in Guwahati:

Once you reach Guwahati Airport, head to the hotel. Later, visit Kamakhya Temple and Balaji Temple. Then, proceed to Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, a cultural museum that preserves, demonstrates and performs cultural arts. Stay overnight at the Guwahati hotel. Terrain: Plains You can also choose to cruise through the Brahmaputra River in the evening on your own expense.

 

Day 2 - From Guwahati to Shillong (110 km/3 hours):

Drive for around 110 km to reach Shillong. En route visit Umiam Lake and Barapani Park. After lunch, go for a sightseeing trip as this gorgeous city offers amazing tourist spots. Visit Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures and Wards Lake. Then, head to the Botanical Garden, which is home to a plethora of exotic plants and rare collection of orchids. You can also visit Lady Hydari Park, which is a Japanese style landscaped park endowed with stretches of roses and exquisite flowers. The Mini Zoo adjacent to the park has about 73 birds, 140 reptiles and mammals. Visit Golf Course, which is charted amidst a surging valley, full of thick pine groves and rhododendron trees. Then, head to Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak, which display a mesmerising view of the scenic countryside. Retire for the day and stay overnight in Shillong. Terrain: Initially plain than hills

 

Day 3 - From Shillong to Mawlynnong and Dawki:

Post breakfast, take an excursion to Mawlynnong, one of the cleanest villages in Asia. Later, proceed to Dawki and witness the beauty of Umngot River. Day 4 - From Shillong to Cherrapunji (55 km/2 hours):

On this day, drive to Cherrapunji and explore the waterfalls and caves. Visit Ramakrishna School and Museum, Eco Park, Nohsngithiang Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Mawkdok Dympep Valley View, Mawsmai Cave and Arwah Cave. Retire for the day and head to the hotel in Cherrapunji for the overnight stay. Terrain: Hills

 

Day 5 - From Cherrapunji to Guwahati (150 km/4 hours):

Post breakfast, drive to Guwahati. Upon arrival, explore Guwahati, the gateway of Northeast. You can visit The Guwahati War Cemetery, Assam State Museum, Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden, Bhupen Hazarika Cemetery and Regional Science Centre Khanapara. Pay a visit to some popular temples in Guwahati such as Kamakhya Temple, Basistha Temple and Purva Tirupati Sri Balaji Mandir. Later, head to Umananda Island, the smallest inhabited island of India, in a ferry. You can visit the Shiva temple that is located on this island. Stay overnight at the hotel in Guwahati. Day 2 - Gangtok local sightseeing (9.30am to 1.30pm or 2.00pm to 6.00pm) :-

Morning starts the half day sightseeing in and around this capital city of Sikkim, covering Chortan (Stupa), Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday) Institute of Handicrafts and handlooms (Closed on Sunday), Ranka Monastery & Jakhri water falls .

 

Day 3 - Excursion trip to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir :-

AM start for a day trip to Tsomgo lake (12400ft), which is only 32kms from Gangtok City, the lake is almost about 1Km long, oval in shape and 15 mtrs deep. The lake is considered sacred by the local people, further 12Kms visit Baba Mandir dedicated to the memory of the soldier Harbhajan Singh. Evening free at Gangtok for shopping and individual activity.

 

Day 4 - Gangtok to Pemayangtse :-

Morning transfer to Pemayangtse (123kms/6.5hrs). Pemayangtse is a very small Himalayan village in West Sikkim. Pelling is the nearest motor able point from Mt. Kanchendzonga, worlds 03rd highest peak, offers a good sunrise and all day long view of Kanchendzonga and the entire Eastern Himalayan range.

 

Day 5 - Pemayangtse local sightseeing (9.30am to 1.30pm or 2.00pm to 6.00pm) :-

After breakfast start for half day sightseeing in an around Pemayangtse, Sacred Khecheopalri Lake, Kanchendzonga Falls, Pemayangtse Monastery – the 2nd oldest monastery of Sikkim, & Darap Village. Evening free for individual activity and leisure.

 

Day 6 - Pemayangtse to Darjeeling :-

Morning transfer to Darjeeling (128kms/5hrs). Once the summer capital of India, Darjeeling is a land of infinite variety and charm. It will cater you a mix experience of lively nature & charming Himalayan people. It is the place of Dorje, the mystic thunderbolt of the Lama-Religion. At dawn, drive to Tiger Hill to see an awe-inspiring view of the Himalayas. Watch the world’s third highest peak, the Kanchandzonga, turn from pink to gold as the sun rises over the mountain range. On your way back, stop by the 135-year-old Ghoom Monastery and the Batasia Loop War Memorial, built in the memory of martyred Gorkha soldiers. Day 4 - Gangtok Local Sightseeing (9.30 AM TO 1.30 PM OR 2.00 PM TO 6.00 PM) :

Early next morning, go on a full-day sightseeing tour of Gangtok. Visit Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok and Hanuman Tok to see spellbinding views of the Himalayas. See Do Drul Chorten, the biggest stupa in Sikkim. The Namgyal Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sunday) has an impressive collection of Tibetan artefacts and ancient manuscripts. The beautifully structured Rumtek Monastery is located on the outskirts of Gangtok. You can also shop for souvenirs at the Institute of Handicrafts and Handlooms (closed on Sunday). After breakfast, drive to the Yumthang Valley. Yumthang is a picturesque region surrounded by the rugged Himalayas. In spring, the ice in the valley thaws out to allow vast grazing pastures to grow all around. Many a yak can be seen grazing in the pastures. Visit the Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary and the hot sulphur spring. Drive back to Lachung for lunch. Then, visit the Lachung Monastery. Stay overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 8 - Lachung to Gangtok :-

After breakfast, return to Gangtok and check in at the hotel. Stay overnight in Gangtok.

Welcome on arrival at Bagdogra Airport and Transfer to Kalimpong (65kms / 02hrs), a quiet hill resort in eastern Himalaya. Kalimpong is famous for its Orchids & Nurseries and some of the some of the rarest cacti & Orchids can be seen. Oak, Maple and chestnut stretch up the ridge as far as the eye can reach. Check in at Hotel. Evening visit the local market to have an in depth knowledge about the local culture and community.

 

Day 2 - Kalimpong sightseeing and transfer to Pelling :-

Some photographs of the natural scenes of Switzerland and Yumthang valley are very hard to distinguish. Yumthang, which is at an altitude of 12,000 ft., is situated about 135 km from Gangtok. April and May promises colorful flowers & Orchids, where as November end to March usually sees snows. Transfer back to Lachung for Lunch followed by visit to Lachung Monastery. Day 9 - Lachung to Gangtok :-

Morning after breakfast transfer to Gangtok (117kms/5hrs). Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 10 - Gangtok To Darjeeling :-
